Job summary

AngelCare in Johannesburg seeks a knowledgeable and passionate library operations manager to oversee daily activities, organize resources, assist patrons with research, and design programs that serve the community.

You will lead collections development, supervise staff and volunteers, manage budgets and grants, and partner with educators and community groups to promote literacy and access to information.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Library Science or related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong knowledge of library systems, databases and digital resources.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience in program development and community engagement is a plus.
• Proficiency in using technology and social media to promote library services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain library collections through selection, acquisition, and cataloging.
