Placements24 in Mossel Bay is looking for a seasoned Lead Structural Engineer to guide the engineering team in delivering safe, efficient structural designs for prestigious building and infrastructure projects in the Western Cape.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead technical reviews, and collaborate with architects and construction teams to ensure design intent and code compliance across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Expertise in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, Prokon) and CAD software.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and site practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
• Perform complex structural analysis and calculations using advanced software.
• Oversee the preparation of structural drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Manage and mentor a team of structural engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, clients, and construction teams to ensure design intent is met.
• Review shop drawings, respond to site queries, and conduct site inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
