Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Structural Engineer to drive innovative and resilient designs for coastal development projects in Cape Town. This senior role oversees the full lifecycle from concept to construction, ensuring compliance with strong local codes and marine considerations.

You will lead a team of engineers and drafters, conduct advanced analysis using SAP2000, ETABS, and STAAD.Pro, and collaborate with architects, contractors, and authorities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
• 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with large-scale building and coastal projects.
• Pr Eng designation is required.
• Proficiency in advanced structural analysis and design software (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro).
• In-depth knowledge of concrete, steel, and composite structures, with SA and international codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process for complex building and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety and stability.
• Conduct advanced structural analysis and design considering wind, seismic, and marine factors.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications and construction methodologies.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of structural engineers and drafters.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and regulatory bodies for seamless delivery.
• Perform site inspections during construction to verify adherence to design specs and address issues.
