Placements24 seeks a seasoned Lead Structural Engineer to spearhead coastal design initiatives in Cape Town. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring safety and structural integrity across diverse coastal developments along the Western Cape coastline.

The role requires 10+ years of coastal structural experience, Pr.Eng. registration, and expertise in ETABS, SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro, with strong leadership and client liaison skills.

Qualifications

• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA (mandatory).
• 10+ years in structural engineering, coastal focus.
• Proficient in ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro.
• Experience in seismic design and wind loading for coastal structures.
• Strong leadership, project management and client liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process for coastal development projects including high-rise buildings, marine structures, and commercial complexes.
• Conduct structural analysis and design using advanced modeling and simulation software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports in line with building codes and standards.
• Provide expert technical oversight during construction and resolve structural issues.
• Manage project timelines, resources and budgets for structural components.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers to maintain technical excellence.
