Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Structural Civil Engineer to join our client in the Gauteng region. The role focuses on designing the structural integrity of diverse building projects, from commercial to residential developments, with emphasis on codes, safety, and performance.

The ideal candidate will hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree (Master's preferred), be ECSA-registered, and bring at least 7 years of building-design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil or Structural Engineering; Masters preferred.
• ECSA registration (Pr. Eng or Tech Eng) required.
• 7+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, Prokon).
• Knowledge of SANS standards and materials like reinforced concrete, steel, masonry.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for building projects, ensuring safety and code compliance.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specs using advanced software.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor structural integrity during construction.
• Collaborate with architects, PMs, and construction teams to resolve design issues.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and design proposals.
• Stay updated on new materials and construction techniques in structural engineering.
• Manage project timelines and budgets related to structural engineering.
• Review submittals and respond to site queries promptly.
• Ensure all designs meet building regulations and safety standards.
