Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a Lead Solar PV Project Manager to drive utility-scale and commercial PV projects in the Tembisa, Gauteng region. You will oversee development through construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring on-time delivery, budget control, and top quality while actively mitigating risks.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering; PMP is desirable. At least 8 years in energy project management with solar PV, experience with EPC contracts, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil)
• 8+ years of progressive project management experience in energy, with solar PV focus
• PMP certification is desirable
• Experience with EPC contract negotiation and management
• Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of Solar PV projects from feasibility to commercial operation
• Develop detailed project plans with scope, budget, timelines and risk management
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, legal, finance and external stakeholders
• Oversee procurement of equipment and services with competitive pricing and quality
• Manage EPC contractors ensuring contract compliance, safety and milestones
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality
• Implement risk mitigation and handle project changes to protect schedule and budget
• Ensure regulatory/permitting compliance in Gauteng
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management
• Foster strong relationships with clients, partners and community stakeholders
