Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Solar Power Project Manager in George, Western Cape to drive end-to-end solar projects from planning to handover. You will coordinate stakeholders, protect budgets, ensure safety and deliver high-quality results across site selection, permits, procurement, construction and commissioning.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project management with 5+ years in solar, a PMP or equivalent, and strong knowledge of PV tech, electrical engineering and construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Construction required.
• PMP certification highly desirable.
• 10+ years of project management experience, 5+ years in solar projects.
• Experience managing large-scale renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of PV technologies, system design, electrical engineering and construction.
• Proficiency in PM methodologies and tools (MS Project/Primavera P6).

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end solar project development and execution.
• Develop project plans: scope, schedule, budget and resources.
• Secure permits from authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Procure materials, equipment and services; negotiate contracts.
• Direct on-site construction; enforce safety and quality.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigations.
• Serve as primary contact for stakeholders with regular updates.
• Lead project teams and foster high performance.
• Manage budgets and financial reporting.
• Oversee commissioning and handover to operations.
