Placements24 in Cape Town seeks a Lead Solar PV Engineer to oversee the design, development and implementation of large-scale solar PV projects. You will lead a team through feasibility, detailed design, permitting and grid connection, ensuring standards and client specs are met.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in solar PV design, strong leadership, and proficiency with PVsyst and AutoCAD. Pr Eng registration is desirable. Opportunity to travel for flagship projects across South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years in solar PV design and engineering.
• Experience with utility-scale solar projects and grid integration.
• Proficiency in PVsyst and AutoCAD; strong project leadership.
• Pr Eng registration is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of utility-scale solar PV systems.
• Oversee selection of modules, inverters, mounting.
• Perform site assessments, yield estimates, and financial modeling.
• Manage development from feasibility to detailed design and permitting.
• Ensure designs meet electrical codes and client specs.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project lifecycle.
