Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Shaft Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of surface and underground mining infrastructure. You will develop structural criteria, perform analyses, and guide 3D modelling and reviews across concept to execution phases, interfacing with mining, civil, mechanical, and electrical teams.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ experience in structural design of mining infrastructure
• Registration as Candidate Engineer with ECSA
• Civil Eng degree with structural specialization
• Knowledge of concrete and steel structures
• Familiar with OHSA, MHSA, and SANS codes

Responsibilities

• Develop structural design basis and criteria
• Develop technical specifications for construction
• Review bid submissions and TEAR
• Develop designs from concept through execution
• Mentor junior engineers and review 3D models
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients
