About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized leader in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking a highly accomplished and dynamic Lead Project Manager to oversee complex offshore construction projects from their regional headquarters in Sandton, Gauteng . This senior position demands exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and execution capabilities to manage multi-million dollar projects from inception through to completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering large-scale offshore infrastructure projects, including platforms, pipelines, and subsea systems, on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, key stakeholders, and ensuring project success in a demanding operational environment. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closing of offshore construction projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, resources, and risks effectively.
• Develop and implement detailed project management plans, including communication, quality, and risk management strategies.
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, regulatory bodies, and internal management.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement timely corrective actions.
• Conduct regular project reviews and provide comprehensive progress reports.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor and contractor performance.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and execution strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Marine) or a related technical field.
• A Master's degree or MBA is advantageous.
• A minimum of 12 years of progressive project management experience, with at least 7 years specifically focused on large-scale offshore construction projects within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven experience leading projects with budgets exceeding $50 million USD.
• Strong knowledge of offshore construction methods, subsea systems, marine operations, and relevant industry standards.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is essential.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and drive consensus.
• Experience managing hybrid teams and leveraging remote collaboration tools is a must.
• Strong understanding of project financial management and risk assessment.
• Availability for travel as required by project demands.
