About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized leader in offshore energy infrastructure, is seeking an experienced and highly competent Offshore Installation Manager for a role that provides remote oversight and strategic guidance for offshore projects. While the base of operations for this role is remote, the responsibilities involve directing and managing complex offshore installation campaigns, often in international waters. This position requires extensive experience in offshore project management, a deep understanding of marine operations, construction, and safety protocols. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing offshore installation projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. We are looking for an individual with exceptional leadership skills, a proven ability to manage large-scale offshore operations remotely, and a strong capacity for problem-solving in high-pressure environments. This role demands close collaboration with onshore project teams, marine superintendents, and site teams. The position will primarily focus on providing strategic direction and oversight from a remote location, potentially within Gauteng , South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote strategic leadership and management for offshore installation projects.
• Oversee all aspects of offshore construction and installation activities, including subsea, topsides, and pipeline scopes.
• Develop and manage detailed project execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Ensure adherence to stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies offshore.
• Manage relationships with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the selection and management of marine spread and installation contractors.
• Implement effective risk management strategies for offshore operations.
• Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions remotely.
• Ensure quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead and mentor onshore support teams and provide guidance to offshore personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Naval Architecture) or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the offshore oil, gas, or renewable energy sectors, with at least 7 years in a management role.
• Extensive experience in managing large-scale offshore installation projects (e.g., FPSO integration, subsea field development, offshore wind).
• Proven track record of successfully managing offshore operations and complex marine logistics.
• Strong understanding of offshore construction techniques, heavy lifting, and welding.
• Expertise in offshore HSE management systems and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects remotely and effectively communicate with distributed teams.
• Must be eligible to work remotely from South Africa .
