Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor in Gauteng to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations at a high‑volume site. You will lead a team of production operators, drive productivity, and ensure safety and quality standards are met across shifts.

The role requires hands-on management, strong leadership, and the ability to optimize processes while maintaining a focus on operational excellence. A post-secondary qualification is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in production supervision or similar leadership in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, Lean principles and quality systems.
• Ability to drive productivity, manage safety and ensure quality.
• Hands-on management style with focus on operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production to meet targets for volume, quality and timeliness.
• Lead, train and motivate production operators; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Monitor processes, identify inefficiencies, implement solutions to optimize output and reduce waste.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, policies and quality standards.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage workforce scheduling to ensure adequate staffing for all shifts.
• Maintain production records and generate KPI reports.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to keep equipment reliable.
• Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts professionally.
