Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes and safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as required by plant operations in Vereeniging.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the production team to meet output targets.
• Ensure all production activities are carried out in compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor production processes and equipment performance, identifying and addressing any deviations.
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Train and mentor production operators, ensuring they are proficient in their roles and safety procedures.
• Manage shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Oversee raw material handling, process monitoring, and final product quality checks.
• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports.
