Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Production Supervisor for our client in Paarl, Western Cape. The role oversees a manufacturing shift, guiding operators, ensuring efficient workflow, quality control, and safety compliance while driving productivity and meeting output targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role in manufacturing/production.
• Strong understanding of production processes, workflow management, and quality control.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Sound problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in manufacturing.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime, to meet operational needs in Paarl, Western Cape.
• Technical background or qualification in manufacturing/engineering advantageous.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a team of production operators, ensuring efficient task allocation and performance.
• Monitor the production process closely, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure all production activities are carried out in accordance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and development to existing team members.
• Conduct daily production meetings to discuss targets, issues, and improvements.
• Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for all staff.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control and maintenance, to address production-related challenges.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
• Manage shift handovers effectively to ensure continuity of operations.
• Foster a positive and productive team environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
