Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer for a client in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead the design, development and optimization of chemical processes and equipment, and mentor junior engineers in a large-scale petrochemical setting.

Responsibilities include process simulations, troubleshooting, safety/compliance, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, operations and maintenance to implement new technologies and deliver robust production.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive process engineering experience in petrochemical/chemical manufacturing.
• Leadership experience including mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong knowledge of process design, simulation, and scale-up.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, development, and optimization of chemical processes and equipment.
• Conduct process simulations to predict performance and identify improvements.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines for process improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation; stay updated on industry advances.
