Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Lead Nanny to join a loving family in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee daily care, development and wellbeing for two children, aged 5 and 8, ensuring routines and safety are maintained with professionalism.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in childcare, including 2 in a lead role, plus First Aid/CPR certification, a valid driver’s license, and excellent English. Accommodation may be provided, with a provident fund and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in professional childcare with leadership exposure.
• Lead nanny experience of at least 2 years is preferred.
• Certified in First Aid and CPR is required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Excellent spoken and written English; patient, creative, and proactive.
• References from previous employers are mandatory and a background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Develop and supervise engaging daily routines and educational activities for two children.
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to dietary needs.
• Oversee homework support and encourage positive learning attitudes.
• Coordinate outings, activities, and transportation as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized home environment for children.
• Communicate regularly with parents about progress and concerns.
