Job summary

Communicate Recruitment in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Team Leader to guide a high-performing recruitment team, mentor consultants, drive sales, and ensure top-tier service to clients and candidates.

You will own key performance metrics, coach on sourcing, interviewing, and closing placements, and collaborate across branches to win new business. The role requires 3–5+ years agency recruitment, leadership experience, and a strong, commercially minded approach with excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of successful agency recruitment experience.
• Proven track record of consistent billing and business development.
• Previous leadership, mentoring, or coaching experience within recruitment.
• Strong understanding of the full 360° recruitment cycle.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long‑term client relationships.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Recruitment Consultants.
• Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions and performance reviews.
• Create individual development plans to improve consultant performance.
• Motivate and inspire the team to achieve both individual and branch objectives.
• Foster a positive, high-performance culture built on accountability and teamwork.
• Identify skill gaps and implement training initiatives where required.
• Continue managing your own recruitment desk while leading the team.
• Drive business development activities and support consultants in securing new clients.
• Assist with strategic client meetings and negotiations where required.
• Coach consultants on candidate sourcing, interviewing, client management, and closing placements.
• Monitor recruitment pipelines to ensure quality and activity levels remain high.
• Ensure exceptional service delivery to both clients and candidates.
• Track and analyse KPIs, activity metrics, and financial performance.
• Monitor interviews, client meetings, placements, and revenue generation.
• Hold consultants accountable to daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
• Implement action plans to improve underperformance.
• Report on team performance to senior management.
• Ensure CRM and recruitment systems are maintained accurately.
• Maintain compliance with company recruitment processes and standards.
• Support the implementation of new initiatives and best practices.
• Collaborate with other team leaders and branches to share market intelligence and recruitment strategies.
