Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead onboard electrical operations on our cruise vessels. You will oversee maintenance, installation, and repair of generators, switchboards, motors, and control systems, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will develop preventive maintenance programs, supervise a skilled onboard team, and collaborate with other departments to optimize vessel performance. Willingness to work extended voyages is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the maritime industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment (generators, switchboards, motors, control systems).
  • Familiarity with SOLAS, IMO, and IEC regulations and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work on board vessels for extended periods.

  • Monitor and analyze electrical systems performance, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for electrical systems and equipment
  • Train and supervise the electrical team on board, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other vessel operations
  • Manage and maintain inventory of electrical equipment and spare parts, ensuring timely procurement and replacement when necessary
  • Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical systems and equipment, and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades as needed
