Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead onboard electrical operations on our cruise vessels. You will oversee maintenance, installation, and repair of generators, switchboards, motors, and control systems, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will develop preventive maintenance programs, supervise a skilled onboard team, and collaborate with other departments to optimize vessel performance. Willingness to work extended voyages is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the maritime industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment (generators, switchboards, motors, control systems).
• Familiarity with SOLAS, IMO, and IEC regulations and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Willingness to work on board vessels for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of all electrical systems and equipment on board the cruise ship.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and safety.
• Monitor and analyze electrical systems performance and resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with SOLAS, IMO, IEC regulations and standards.
• Train and supervise the electrical team on board.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate electrical systems with vessel operations.
• Maintain inventory of electrical equipment and spare parts and ensure timely procurement.
• Stay updated with industry developments and recommend improvements and upgrades.
