Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Production Supervisor for our client’s state-of-the-art facility in Cape Town. You will oversee daily production, drive lean initiatives, and lead a diverse team to meet demanding targets while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

The role requires a strong background in manufacturing leadership, lean tools, ERP/MES proficiency, and a track record of developing staff in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma with extensive experience in manufacturing leadership.
• Experience in lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• Strong production planning, scheduling and inventory control knowledge.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MES systems and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production teams, ensuring adherence to schedules and production targets.
• Monitor production performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal output and quality.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949), and company policies within the production area.
• Implement and champion lean manufacturing initiatives, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma, to drive continuous improvement.
• Train, coach, and develop production staff, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring skill development.
• Manage resource allocation, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to meet production demands efficiently.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality assurance departments to resolve operational issues and implement process enhancements.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment, addressing any employee concerns or conflicts promptly.
