Job summary
Placements24 seeks a Senior Instrument and Control Engineer to lead design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems for facilities in the Nelspruit area. This role focuses on safe, reliable operation of complex oil & gas process plants, with responsibilities spanning specifications, control strategies, DCS and SIS configuration, and issue resolution.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years in instrumentation and control engineering with Oil & Gas exposure.
- Experience with major DCS and SIS platforms; strong safety knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Develop specifications for instrumentation, control valves, and associated hardware and software.
- Design and implement process control strategies, including PID control loops and advanced control schemes.
- Configure and program DCS and SIS in accordance with project requirements and safety standards.
- Perform functional safety assessments and ensure compliance with IEC 61508/61511 standards.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with project teams, operations, and maintenance personnel to ensure successful integration and operation of control systems.
