Alignerr Corp. in Johannesburg invites an experienced Lead Automotive Software Engineer to helm embedded systems development in automotive domains, including infotainment, ADAS, and ECU software. You will collaborate with hardware, system architects and QA, apply AUTOSAR and MISRA, work with RTOS and embedded Linux, and drive adherence to ISO 26262.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of embedded software experience, with at least 3 years in a lead/senior role in automotive.
• Extensive C/C++ experience for embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of RTOS and embedded Linux.
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262 and MISRA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of automotive software engineers.
• Architect, design and implement embedded software for automotive applications (infotainment, ADAS, powertrain).
• Define software requirements, specifications, and designs with stakeholders.
• Oversee SDLC from concept to testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain embedded software using C/C++ on automotive platforms.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards (AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, MISRA).
• Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate software and hardware components.
• Perform code reviews, performance analysis, and debugging to ensure quality.
• Stay updated on emerging automotive embedded technologies and best practices.
• Manage project timelines, resources and deliverables.
