Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the engineering and construction industry, is seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Electrical Project Engineer to oversee significant industrial projects from their Centurion, Gauteng office. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional capable of managing all electrical engineering aspects of large-scale industrial developments, from conceptualization through to completion and commissioning. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead challenging projects, influence technical direction, and contribute to the growth of a respected organization. The role operates on a hybrid model, offering a blend of on-site project engagement and remote office work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the electrical engineering team for major industrial projects, including mines, power plants, and manufacturing facilities.
• Oversee the development of electrical design packages, including power distribution, protection systems, motor control centers (MCCs), and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for electrical works.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations for potential projects.
• Supervise the procurement process for electrical equipment and materials, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success.
• Lead site installation supervision, commissioning activities, and handover processes.
• Provide technical expertise, mentorship, and leadership to project engineering staff.
• Implement and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on project sites.

Requirements
