Job summary

Together Staffing group is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership on complex building services, industrial and data centre projects in Cape Town. You will own electrical design, project delivery and client relationships while working on high-reliability power systems.

The role requires ECSA registration as Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng, 10+ years in consulting engineering, and strong knowledge of MV/LV systems.

Qualifications

• Registered with ECSA as Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng.
• Minimum 10 years of consulting engineering in building services/industrial environments.
• Experience with MV/LV distribution, standby generation, power quality and resilience design.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer / Technologist to provide technical leadership on complex building services, industrial and data centre projects in Cape Town. This is an opportunity for a senior professional to take ownership of electrical design, project delivery and client relationships while working on high-reliability power systems.

Requirements:

• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng.
• Minimum 10 years’ consulting engineering experience within building services and/or industrial environments.
• Education: BSc Eng. or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MV and LV power distribution systems.
• Experience with large-scale standby generation, synchronisation, power quality, resilience and redundancy design.
• Working knowledge of IEC, SANS and BS standards applicable to MV/LV systems.
• Experience with eTAP or equivalent software for electrical system studies.
• Knowledge of building services contracts such as JBCC, FIDIC or NEC.
• Experience with Autodesk products such as Revit and Navisworks is advantageous.
• Data centre experience and knowledge of TIA-942 or Uptime principles will be advantageous.
• Strong communication, technical report writing, planning and project management skills.
