Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Consultant for our Upington, Northern Cape office. The role blends office design with occasional site visits and client meetings, offering mentorship and leadership opportunities across commercial, industrial, and municipal projects. The ideal candidate holds Pr. Eng.

or Pr. Tech. Eng. registration with ECSA, a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, and at least 7 years of progressive electrical design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng. registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical design consulting.
• Experience with commercial, industrial, and municipal projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical calculation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept to completion.
• Develop cost-effective electrical system designs (power distribution, lighting, earthing, protection).
• Prepare design calculations, specifications, and drawings.
• Provide expert technical advice to clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS and codes.
• Review contractor submittals and support construction phase.
