Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for Upington, Northern Cape, to design and implement electrical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects. You will perform load calculations, prepare schematics, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical design, proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP, and knowledge of SANS. ECSA registration is highly desirable, and travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years post-graduate experience in electrical engineering design, preferably industrial/infrastructure.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP).
• Strong knowledge of power systems, control systems, instrumentation, and SANS codes.
• ECSA registration is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and control logic.
• Conduct load calculations, power studies, and system analyses.
• Specify electrical equipment, components, and materials.
• Ensure designs comply with electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with mechanical and civil disciplines for integrated design.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Perform site inspections and troubleshoot installations.
• Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for design intent.
• Stay updated on electrical engineering technologies and best practices.
