Placements24 is seeking a proactive Cleaning Operations Supervisor to lead cleaning teams across premier hotels and hospitality venues in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee schedules, training, and quality checks to uphold high cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction.

The role requires 5+ years in cleaning with 2+ in supervision, strong health and safety knowledge, excellent communication, and flexibility for weekends/public holidays. Durban experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the cleaning industry with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in hospitality.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals and equipment.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to cleaning services.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office).
• Experience in KwaZulu-Natal, especially Durban, is highly advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and own transport may be required for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and motivate a team of cleaning staff to deliver high-quality service.
• Develop and implement daily cleaning schedules for all hospitality venues.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas for cleanliness and hygiene.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment with accurate records.
• Enforce health, safety and sanitation regulations, including proper use of chemicals and PPE.
• Address guest or client concerns regarding cleaning services promptly.
• Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
• Maintain attendance, cleaning activity and inventory records.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment for the team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in Durban.
