Placements24 is seeking a Cleaning Operations Supervisor in Durban to oversee daily cleaning activities, manage schedules, and ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety. The role blends on-site supervision with administrative planning and reporting, with a hybrid work model that includes both on-site and remote work.

The ideal candidate will lead a team, conduct quality checks, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while coordinating with building management.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising cleaning teams in facilities/cleaning operations.
• Solid knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials and equipment.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations in cleaning operations.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team and prioritize tasks.
• Proficient in basic computer applications for reporting and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the cleaning team.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules for all areas of the complex.
• Conduct inspections to monitor quality and address deficiencies.
• Train new staff on procedures, safety protocols and equipment use.
• Manage inventory and reorder cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Respond to issues or emergencies and coordinate actions.
• Maintain records of attendance, performance and training.
• Communicate with building management and clients regarding services.
