Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Cleaning & Sanitation Supervisor in Durban to lead a team of cleaners, oversee sanitation protocols, and ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards in a busy industrial setting.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of cleaning processes and chemicals, and a proactive approach to maintaining product integrity and operational efficiency. You will train staff, conduct inspections, and coordinate with procurement for supplies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a supervisor in industrial cleaning or sanitation.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning processes, equipment and chemicals.
• Experience in manufacturing/heavy industrial environments preferred.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities in industrial environments, including production floors, warehouses, and machinery areas.
• Develop and implement comprehensive sanitation plans to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations.
• Train cleaning staff on proper use of industrial cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to identify sanitation deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure adequate stock levels, liaising with procurement for orders.
• Ensure all cleaning activities adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cleaning operations, equipment, or staff performance.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and training activities.
