The ideal candidate holds a BEng in Civil Engineering, professional registration with ECSA, and 5+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in hydraulic modeling and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• ECSA professional registration (Pr. Eng./Pr. Eng. or ETDP) is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in water and sanitation infrastructure design/management.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, WaterCAD, SewerGEMS).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and related design software.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan water distribution networks, pumping stations, and storage facilities.
• Develop designs for wastewater collection systems, sewage treatment plants, and effluent disposal.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water and sanitation systems.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Oversee construction activities for water and sanitation projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Liaise with municipal authorities, clients, and contractors to ensure project success.
• Perform site investigations and assess existing infrastructure conditions.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant SANS and environmental regulations.
• Assist in development and implementation of asset management plans for water and sanitation infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and site personnel.
