Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registration as Pr Eng or Candidate Engineer with ECSA is required.
• At least 4 years of civil engineering experience in water and sanitation projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and water/wastewater design software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Design water reticulation plans including pipelines, tanks, and pump stations.
• Design wastewater collection systems and effluent disposal infrastructure.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and feasibility studies for water projects.
• Prepare drawings, specifications and bill of quantities.

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a diligent Civil Engineer to join their dedicated team in Paarl, Western Cape . This role is focused on the design, planning, and implementation of critical water and sanitation infrastructure projects for the municipality and surrounding communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the provision of safe and reliable water supply and effective wastewater management systems. You will engage in detailed design work, project coordination, and site supervision, contributing directly to the public well-being and environmental health of the region. This is an excellent opportunity for a civil engineer passionate about contributing to essential service delivery in a hands-on capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for water reticulation systems, including pipelines, storage tanks, and pump stations.
• Design wastewater collection systems and effluent disposal infrastructure.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations and feasibility studies for water and sanitation projects.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and municipal bylaws.
• Manage project execution, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality of work during construction.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids.
• Address technical queries and provide solutions to site-related challenges.

Requirements
