Placements24 is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to spearhead major infrastructure projects in the George region. You will lead design, planning, and execution of roads, bridges, and water systems while mentoring a team of engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• 12+ years of experience in civil infrastructure design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex infrastructure projects from concept to completion.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dynamic and innovative Lead Civil Engineer to spearhead infrastructure development projects in the George region. You will be responsible for the design, planning, and execution of major civil engineering works, including roads, bridges, and water systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and the ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest engineering standards, contributing significantly to the region's development and infrastructure resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Manage project teams, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and detailed engineering calculations.
• Oversee the procurement process for materials and services, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Ensure all projects meet relevant engineering standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, reports, and project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• 12+ years of experience in civil infrastructure design and project management.
• Proven expertise in structural analysis , geotechnical engineering , and hydrology.
• Proficiency in relevant CAD and engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit).
