Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Chemical Engineer to oversee plant operations in Centurion. You will lead the technical direction for daily operations, ensure safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, and mentor junior staff in a major chemical production site.

In this leadership role you will manage complex processes, troubleshoot production challenges, and drive process improvements, cost reduction, and yield enhancement while maintaining compliance with safety

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years' progressive experience in chemical plant operations and process engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams and projects.
• Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and hazard analysis techniques.
• Proficiency with process control systems and data acquisition methods.
• Solid understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily plant operations, ensuring schedules and quality targets.
• Lead troubleshooting for process upsets and equipment malfunctions with effective solutions.
• Develop and execute programs for process improvement, cost reduction, and yield enhancement.
• Ensure compliance with local and international safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to optimize equipment reliability.
