Job summary

The Recruitment Pig in South Africa seeks a café operations leader to guide front- and back-of-house teams. You’ll oversee daily service, ensure top-quality coffee and meals, and support store performance with strong leadership and hands-on coaching.

You’ll manage stock, budgets, rosters and training, while delivering warm guest experiences and ensuring safety/compliance. 3–5 years café management experience and a Matric are required; valid SA driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
• Valid SA driver’s license is preferred.
• 3–5 years of management experience in busy cafés, bistros, or restaurants.
• Solid understanding of front-of-house service and kitchen prep.
• Familiar with espresso machines, coffee service and POS cash-up.
• Experience in managing shift schedules, stock control and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Guide daily floor service, barista counters, and kitchen prep lines.
• Ensure top-quality coffee drinks, meals and fast kitchen tickets.
• Order store stock, count weekly inventory, and minimize waste.
• Complete daily POS cash-ups and report store sales figures.
• Roster, train, and support floor staff, baristas, and kitchen team.
• Welcome customers warmly and handle service queries promptly.
• Keep dining and prep zones clean, safe and compliant.
