AECOM South Africa invites a Principal Engineer - Bridges to lead the delivery of diverse local and international bridge projects, coordinating with global teams and multidisciplinary leads. You will oversee design, drawings, and specifications while applying rigorous quality control and value engineering.

The role requires extensive experience, professional registration, and a track record in bridges and structural design.

Qualifications

• Minimum fifteen years' experience (including site experience).
• Professional registration, ECSA or international equivalent.
• Proven track record of bridges/structures design and collaboration with international teams (~15 years).
• Proven ability to perform technical reviews of complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform the role of Discipline Lead (bridges) on large-scale transportation projects.
• Provide technical design/planning input for new bridges, culverts, and related structures.
• Conduct value engineering for alternative designs and materials.
• Coordinate with global teams and multidisciplinary leads.
• Oversee preparation of construction drawings and project specifications.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Control Policies and Quality Management Systems.
