Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead BIM Modeler for a prominent development firm in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will lead BIM workflows, set standards, and mentor a team of BIM technicians through complex to completion projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating multi-disciplinary models, performing clash detection, and driving efficiencies with state-of-the-art BIM technologies to support landmark commercial and mixed-use developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive BIM modeling/coordination experience.
• Proven track record leading BIM teams on large-scale projects.

This pivotal role demands exceptional technical proficiency in BIM software and a deep understanding of the architectural design and construction process. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining BIM standards, managing model quality, and leading a team of BIM technicians. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects from concept to completion, ensuring coordination and clash detection across disciplines. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the BIM process for assigned projects, ensuring adherence to project requirements and company standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM execution plans.
• Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary BIM models (Architectural, Structural, MEP).
• Perform clash detection analysis and facilitate resolution with project teams.
• Create and manage content libraries, templates, and standards for BIM software.
• Train and mentor junior BIM modelers and technicians.
• Oversee the quality control and assurance of all BIM deliverables.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless project integration.
• Stay abreast of the latest BIM technologies and workflows, recommending improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in BIM modeling and coordination.
• Demonstrated experience leading BIM teams and projects.
• Expert proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and other industry-standard BIM software.
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
• Experience with clash detection and resolution techniques.
• Excellent knowledge of BIM standards and best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with construction processes and site coordination.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial or mixed-use developments in Gauteng is preferred.
