Placements24 is seeking a Lead BIM Architect in Cape Town, Western Cape, to drive BIM adoption across coastal development projects. You will establish standards, workflows, and best practices, guiding a team of BIM technicians and architects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in architecture with 5+ in BIM management, deep Revit/Navisworks expertise, and a passion for innovative coastal design. Professional registration is a plus, and strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in architecture with at least 5 years in BIM management and implementation.
• Expert proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and other relevant platforms.
• Strong understanding of 3D modeling, parametric design, and data management within a BIM environment.
• Experience in managing BIM for large-scale infrastructure or complex building projects, particularly in coastal environments.
• Knowledge of international BIM standards and protocols (e.g., ISO 19650).
• Proven ability to train and mentor teams on BIM best practices and software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive BIM strategies, standards, and protocols for architectural and infrastructure projects.
• Lead the BIM coordination process, ensuring clash detection, data integrity, and seamless integration between models.
• Manage and mentor a team of BIM technicians and architectural staff, fostering high performance and skill development.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external consultants to meet BIM requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the creation and management of BIM content, libraries, and templates for consistency and efficiency.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance BIM proficiency across teams.
• Review BIM models and deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance with BIM execution plans.
• Stay at the forefront of BIM technologies and implement advancements to improve project outcomes.
