Job summary

Our Cape Town-based architectural practice seeks a Lead BIM Architect to spearhead BIM initiatives across commercial and residential developments in the Western Cape. You will establish BIM standards, drive BEP development, and lead cross-disciplinary teams through design to construction with a focus on data integrity and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
• Professional SACAP registration desirable.
• 8+ years in architectural practice with 5+ years BIM implementation/management.
• Hands-on with Revit, Navisworks and related BIM platforms.
• Ability to develop and enforce BIM standards and workflows on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain firm-wide BIM standards, protocols, and best practices for all projects in Cape Town.
• Lead the implementation and adoption of BIM software across design and construction teams.
• Develop and manage BIM execution plans (BEPs) for complex projects, ensuring coordination and clash detection.
• Provide technical guidance and training on BIM software and workflows.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless BIM data integration.
• Oversee creation and management of central BIM models, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on BIM models and data for project requirements.
• Stay abreast of BIM advancements and propose innovative solutions to improve firm performance.
• Contribute to proposals and presentations highlighting BIM capabilities.
• Support project teams in resolving BIM-related issues during design and construction.
