Job summary

ProStaffSelect is seeking a dynamic Head Bartender to lead the ultra-chic restaurant & bar team in Stellenbosch. You will oversee all bar operations, ensure exceptional guest service, beverage quality, and commercial performance.

In this role you will craft signature beverage programmes, elevate product offerings, and maintain luxury service standards with presentation and consistency across the brand. You will mentor staff, manage inventory, and drive revenue while upholding health and safety

Qualifications

• 3–4 years in a supervisory role in bar operations.
• Extensive knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines and cocktails.
• Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
• Additional qualification in hospitality management, Business Administration, WSET or related field.
• Professional bartending/mixology certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train bar staff to ensure fast, friendly service.
• Design and update cocktail menus; stay current with trends.
• Manage stock, orders, and waste to control costs.
• Greet guests, handle requests and resolve complaints.
• Ensure compliance with health, hygiene and alcohol laws.
• Develop beverage programs and keep up with trends and techniques.
• Plan and coordinate bar events and themed promotions.
• Maintain cash handling and daily/weekly/monthly reporting on sales and inventory.
