Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aircraft Design Engineer in Benoni to lead the conception, design, and development of new aircraft components within a hybrid work setup. You will drive innovative aerospace projects and collaborate with a skilled team through design reviews, prototyping, and planning.

The role requires 8+ years in aircraft design, proficiency with CATIA/SolidWorks, and a strong grasp of aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft design and development.
• Proficiency in advanced CAD/CAE tools for design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, and aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of aircraft structures, systems, and components from concept to production.
• Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
• Perform structural, aerodynamic, and systems analysis to ensure design integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective.
• Oversee testing and validation of prototypes and new designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on design projects.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and industry trends in aircraft design.
