Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Mechanical Engineer for a hybrid role based in Upington, South Africa. You will contribute to aerospace projects by designing, analyzing, and testing mechanical systems to meet stringent performance standards.

The position requires a Master’s in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of aerospace design experience, with proficiency in CATIA/SolidWorks and FEA tools such as ANSYS and NASTRAN.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in aerospace mechanical design and analysis.
• Proficiency in CAD (CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA (ANSYS, NASTRAN).
• Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes and standards.
• Thermal/CFD analysis experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications.
• Perform stress, thermal, and fatigue analysis with specialized software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through the product lifecycle.
• Create CAD models, drawings, specs, and test procedures.
• Support testing, validation, and qualification of aerospace hardware.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions.
