Placements24 seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for aerospace applications in Mahikeng. You will design, analyze, and integrate complex mechanical systems, contributing to cutting-edge aircraft projects within a North West context.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and at least 7 years in aerospace-focused design, with CATIA/SolidWorks proficiency and CAE knowledge. A hybrid work arrangement is offered to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of mechanical design experience with aerospace focus.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software CATIA or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing and AS9100.
• Experience with vibration, thermal analysis and fatigue life prediction.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for aerospace applications.
• Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses (FEA and simulations).
• Ensure designs meet performance, safety and reliability standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA and testing teams.
• Prepare design documentation, drawings, specs and reports.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise throughout the lifecycle.
