Job summary

Western Cape Government's Department of the Premier seeks a Labour Relations Officer to manage misconduct, disputes and grievances within employee relations, based in Cape Town. You will require a 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree in HRM or Law at NQF 6 and at least one year of labour relations experience, handling investigations, providing advice, and representing the employer at hearings.

This permanent, full-time post offers a salary level 8 (R413 001–R486 501 per annum) with benefits;

Qualifications

• 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree in HRM or Law at NQF 6.
• Minimum 1 year labour relations experience.
• Knowledge of Public Service Act/ Regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handle misconduct, grievances and disputes.
• Render advice on misconduct and grievance matters.
• Conduct investigations and draft submissions for mandates.
• Represent the employer in conciliation/arbitration matters and disciplinary hearings.
• Implement measures to prevent labour unrest and provide support services.
