Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the day-to-day Internal Sales function
- Lead, develop and manage the Internal Sales team
- Allocate workloads, establish service standards and monitor team performance
- Oversee the complete customer order process from receipt through to invoicing and delivery
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders
- Monitor stock availability, shortages, backorders and outstanding orders
- Liaise with Buying, Finance, Warehouse, Logistics and other internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met
- Manage and develop relationships with national and strategic key accounts
- Build strong relationships with retail buyers, category managers and key decision-makers
- Develop account-specific sales and growth plans
- Identify opportunities to increase sales, distribution, product penetration and shelf space
- Coordinate customer range reviews, presentations, proposals and product samples
- Manage new product listings and coordinate listing submissions through to implementation
- Monitor products at risk of delisting and develop corrective actions where required
- Coordinate customer promotions, promotional calendars and related submissions
- Monitor promotional performance and analyse actual sales against forecasts
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales reports
- Analyse sales performance by customer, product, category and promotion
- Monitor sales against budget, forecast and previous periods
- Prepare and maintain customer sales forecasts and support demand planning
- Identify forecast variances, potential shortages and excess-stock risks
- Manage cross-border and export customer relationships
- Develop existing export territories and identify new international opportunities
- Prepare export quotations and commercial proposals
- Coordinate export orders and liaise with Logistics regarding shipment requirements
- Manage agents, brokers and distributors and monitor their performance against targets
- Identify new sales and listing opportunities across territories
- Maintain accurate customer pricing, agreements and commercial records
- Ensure pricing, discounts and quotations are accurate and appropriately authorised
- Resolve customer queries, disputes and escalated service issues
- Coordinate corrective action across relevant departments
- Monitor stock opportunities, including slow-moving, excess and ageing inventory
- Coordinate new store openings, revamps and closures where required
- Maintain accurate customer, order, sales and commercial documentation
- Identify operational and commercial risks and elevate them appropriately
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and internal controls
- Provide commercial input into management and sales meetings
- Drive accountability, accuracy and customer service within the Internal Sales team
- Protect existing business while actively driving key account growth, new listings, distribution and export opportunities
