Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a seasoned Key Account Manager to lead relationships with major mining operators in Klerksdorp, North West. You will craft account plans, grow revenue, and ensure exceptional service.

The role requires deep mining knowledge, a proven ability to manage large accounts, and strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills. Travel to sites is frequent; a company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of account management or sales experience in mining or heavy equipment.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex client accounts.
• Deep knowledge of mining operations and equipment challenges.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Strong business acumen and strategic account planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop strategic relationships with key accounts in the mining sector within Klerksdorp, North West, and surrounding areas.
• Develop and execute account plans to achieve revenue growth, market share, and customer satisfaction.
• Understand client operational needs and propose tailored equipment and service solutions.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams (sales, technical support, operations).
• Negotiate and close complex contracts for new equipment, parts, and service agreements.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address issues proactively.
• Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling of products and services.
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain detailed activity records in CRM.
• Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
