Job summary

DSV in South Africa seeks an Account Manager to oversee designated key accounts within our freight forwarding operations in the Eastern Cape. You will coordinate with operations, respond to client inquiries, and drive service excellence to retain and grow business.

This role emphasizes end-to-end shipment knowledge, RFQ/tender handling, and regular engagement through meetings and reports. Two years in freight forwarding and client retention is expected; MS Office and CRM proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in end-to-end freight forwarding.
• Minimum 2 years experience in client retention.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer queries and coordinate with operations to resolve issues.
• Support and coordinate any out-of-ordinary freight requirements, such as CODs or handcarrys.
• Maintain and update CRM system (MS Dynamics).
• Attend weekly operational meetings with customers.
• Lead monthly and quarterly client meetings (CBRs & QBRs) and identify growth opportunities.
• Prepare monthly management reports and address invoicing queries with operations and finance.
• Maintain and update rate profiles and manage CSP surveys and feedback.
• Manage and assist with RFQs and tenders to secure additional lanes.
