Job summary

HospitalityandOutdoor seeks a Junior Sous Chef for a prestigious 5-star lodge in Paterson, Eastern Cape. You will lead kitchen operations, manage shifts, uphold food safety and quality, and coordinate with FOH/BOH to deliver world-class dining experiences.

The role requires formal culinary qualification, at least 3 years supervisory experience, HACCP, and fluent English. Live-in accommodation and meals on duty are provided, along with a vibrant lodge environment.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary qualification required.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory chef experience in a 4/5-star lodge/hotel.
• HACCP or Food Safety Certificate required.
• Fluent in English.
• Knowledge of Excel is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Run shifts and conduct pre-shift briefings between FOH & BOH.
• Manage guest interactions, menu requests, and dietary requirements.
• Ensure adherence to all kitchen SOPs and food quality standards.
• Maintain accurate kitchen records and comply with safety regulations.
• Oversee kitchen staff during preparation and service.
