Job summary

Epiroc is seeking a Junior Industrial Design Engineer in Centurion to shape concepts into manufacturable products. You will craft user-centred designs, create enclosure concepts and develop production-ready CAD models in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will balance usability with performance and cost, select materials, evaluate prototypes, and ensure rigorous documentation through industrialisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Design or Product Design.
• Experience with industrial design or product development, with a portfolio of concepts, sketches, CAD models, prototypes and production-ready work.
• Experience with electronic enclosures, user interfaces, prototyping, suppliers, tooling, or industrialisation is advantageous.

• Develop product concepts, HMI graphics and production-ready CAD designs.
• Design product enclosures, mounting components and supporting product elements.
• Balance user needs, product performance, manufacturability and cost requirements.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, applying DFMA principles.

• Collaborate with engineering, suppliers and manufacturing teams through industrialisation.
• Maintain accurate, revision-controlled product and technical documentation.
• Apply user-centred design, ergonomics and practical problem-solving throughout the design process.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
