Job summary

Epiroc is seeking a Junior Industrial Design Engineer to translate concepts into manufacturable products for mining and industrial applications. You will work with multidisciplinary teams from concept through industrialisation, delivering user-centred, production-ready CAD designs and Prototyping to support robust product development.

The role emphasizes DFMA, materials selection, and collaboration with engineering, suppliers and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Design or Product Design.
• Experience in industrial design or product development with a portfolio is advantageous.
• Experience with electronic enclosures, user interfaces, prototyping, suppliers, tooling, or industrialisation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop product concepts, HMI graphics and production-ready CAD designs.
• Design product enclosures, mounting components and supporting product elements.
• Balance user needs, product performance, manufacturability and cost requirements.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes applying DFMA principles.
• Develop and evaluate prototypes and production samples to validate designs.
• Collaborate with engineering, suppliers and manufacturing through industrialisation.
• Maintain accurate, revision-controlled product and technical documentation.
• Apply user-centred design, ergonomics and problem-solving throughout the design process.
