Job summary

Epiroc is seeking a Junior Industrial Design Engineer to translate concepts into manufacturable products for mining and industrial applications. You will work with multidisciplinary teams from concept through industrialisation, delivering user-centred, production-ready CAD designs and Prototyping to support robust product development.

The role emphasizes DFMA, materials selection, and collaboration with engineering, suppliers and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Design or Product Design.
• Experience in industrial design or product development with a portfolio is advantageous.
• Experience with electronic enclosures, user interfaces, prototyping, suppliers, tooling, or industrialisation is advantageous.

Join our team as a Junior Industrial Design Engineer and bring ideas to life by designing user-centred, manufacturable solutions for mining and industrial applications, working alongside multidisciplinary teams from concept to industrialisation.

Your Mission:

• Develop product concepts, HMI graphics and production-ready CAD designs.
• Design product enclosures, mounting components and supporting product elements.
• Balance user needs, product performance, manufacturability and cost requirements.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, applying DFMA principles.
• Develop and evaluate prototypes and production samples to validate and improve designs.
• Collaborate with engineering, suppliers and manufacturing teams through industrialisation.
• Maintain accurate, revision-controlled product and technical documentation.
• Apply user-centred design, ergonomics and practical problem-solving throughout the design process.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Design or Product Design.
• Relevant industrial design or product development experience, supported by a portfolio of concepts, sketches, CAD models, prototypes, and production-ready work.
• Experience with electronic enclosures, user interfaces, prototyping, suppliers, tooling, or industrialisation is advantageous.
